This was the last pre-season friendly before T-5 kicks off, and was against one of our Group A opponents, Bound in Blood. Playing for WR was Munchkin, Brutal, Conman, Savage, Evil, Peepo with Sub appearances from Nyt and Viper.
Game 1. DOM on Rundown: 165-200 LOSS
I would say BIBC have practiced this map and mode quite a bit, they were very difficult opponents. Very clever usage of riot shields and covering fire meant we could not keep hold of point B for very long, and one of their team was constantly getting killstreaks against us.
Although it felt like a proper beating, the score wasn't that bad in the end.
Game 2. SnD on Karachi: 4-3 WIN
A mode we have been improving at a lot lately, I was fairly confident of a win but also slightly apprehensive after the DOM game didn't go our way. It proved to be a pretty tough match, though at one point I believe we were 3-1 up. They tied it at 3-3 but we managed to take the final round for the win.
Top 3 & k/d:
Munchkin 8-5
Conman 8-5
John 5-4
Game 3. DEM on Favela 2-0 WIN
Before the start of this one Nyt came in for Rich, who went to walk the dog or something...
We started on defence, and quickly got put under pressure at B. It fell shortly afterward and so we had to hold out at A for 4 minutes. After the SnD win we were all feeling better about things, and John properly kicked off our new found confidence with some "interesting" rallying calls! (Along the lines of "f**king have that you c**ts!" whilst unleashing the AA-12 fury at the enemy!)
Hilarious to say the least! This spurred everyone on to successfully defend A, then on attack we made short work of planting at both sites for the win.
Top 3 & k/d:
John (no surprises) 28-27
Munchkin 23-23
Nyt 28-30
Game 4. TDM on Afghan: 5900-4300 WIN
Viper came in for Peepo on this one. Using the same plan that we have implemented with success recently, we held the back of the cave and fell back when we needed to. Well disciplined displays from all.
Top 3 & k/d
Conman 15-7
Nyt 11-10
Viper 10-7
Game 5. CTF on Quarry: 6-1 WIN
After an initial shaky start, I managed to break through and cap the first flag. They managed to grab our flag before half time but didn't score, it was returned just in time to cap for
2-0 at the interval. Second half we blitzed them, seemingly scoring at will. They did manage a consolation flag, but only after we had started our celebrations early. Special mention to Dan who was awesome in defence.
Top 3 & k/d
Conman 10-19 (most flags captured)
Munchkin 13-16 (Most kills as flag carrier)
Brutal 22-10 (Most flag carrier kills)
A great performance against a very good side, let's do the same when we meet in T5.
